A Passion for the Youth: Bashir Dawood & Mariyam Dawood

For humanitarians Bashir Dawood and Mariyam Dawood, there is a lot more to life than just meeting basic survival needs like food, healthcare and education.

To help disadvantaged teens and at-risk youths, Bashir Dawood and Mariyam Dawood teamed up with the YMCA Project Bridge Youth Centre in Singapore to give some lucky teens a taste of the fast lane. They brought a group of 15 youths to see the Formula One auto-racing event live at the Singapore Grand Prix at Marina Bay Street Circuit! In addition, the couple treated these lucky teens to a mouth-watering buffet spread at Singapore Club Suite and a jaw-dropping magic show. The 15 participants from YMCA Project Bridge Youth Centre had an experience of a lifetime. For them, it was a night of fast cars, good food and astonishing performances that they would never forget.

The YMCA Project Bridge Youth Centre connects and reaches out to at-risk young people through educational and enrichment activities to motivate and inspire them to discover their fullest potentials. In doing so, the organisation strives to reintegrate the teens into society and help the youths find their own paths. Bashir Dawood & Mariyam Dawood believed that the F1 races would inspire the youth to work towards big but feasible dreams.

For Bashir Dawood & Mariyam Dawood, the F1 races were more than just a series of exciting automobile races. They embodied the power of knowledge wielded for the great good. Bashir Dawood and Mariyam Dawood contended that F1 brought some of the most creative and innovative minds from a selection of industries together under a shared goal.

Inspiring the Young

“Together, we are able to break records, surpass boundaries and redefine limits.” – Bashir Dawood

In inviting 15 at-risk teens to view the F1 races live, Bashir Dawood & Mariyam Dawood hoped that the experience would give them something to work towards.

For Bashir Dawood & Mariyam Dawood, they are committed to the notion that the youth are the future of today. They advocate the idea that all young people are capable of greatness once they set their minds to it. The Dawood family remains dedicated to inspiring and encouraging the youth to seize their dreams and work hard to reach their fullest potentials.
